Pseudo Infrared

I am very fond of black & white infrared images. IR films are prohibitively expensive and so I created a pseudo-IR photo using Photoshop.

That is a smashing picture Ronnie, how did you manage that? Based on the copy I am assuming that you have done this using a digicam, was the picture exposed in a certain way or is it entirely a photoshop trick. Am very curious.

Thanks. The effect is done entirely in Photoshop.

Photoshop? What technique, I am curious...

Open the color image in Photoshop and go to Image>Adjustments>Channel Mixer. Tick in the Monochrome box. Then do some juggling with the sliders till you get the effect you want. Try to keep the percentage total close to 100%.

See my next post wherein I have converted a color image to pseudo-infrared.
